Windjammers Celebrate 1 year of Learning with End-of-year Concert

The Windjammers, Heather Platt's learner group celebrated a year since first picking up their musical instruments by showcasing their progress to a full Thornbury United Reformed Church last Saturday. Its impressive to hear how much progress they have all made in just one year!

Supporting Windjammers were Winds Of Change who, with all the traffic issues that evening, emerged as a full band by the middle of their set! The Wooden Tubes, an unusual ensemble of six bassoons, and the Thornblowers, another local band, also contributed to a great evening.

As Heather's group moves onto their second year, a new batch of learners is due to start with course leader Tina Bartlett on the 4th October! For more information about our learner course and how to join, head to our learners page
